Elearning professionals and Managers in Further and Higher Education institutions in the UK will also be able to request a Sticky Moodle to be sent to them here soon, or download a copy from our Moodle site.
The package, which comes on a USB Drive, contains a condensed version of Moodle, together with all necessary ancillary programs (Apache, PHP and SQL). You can run this Moodle from any XP or Vista computer (including from the USB drive itself) without installing anything and without being connected to a network. This enables you to practise with Moodle anywhere, anytime.
The software is provided AS IS with no statement or warranty as to usability, completeness or suitability for any task. You use all the software included at your own risk. VLE Middleware cannot offer support for this free software, but will try to answer questions emailed to sticky@vlemiddleware.com as and when time allows. As with all software and files, you should check the usb drive or CD with an up to date virus checker and malware checker before loading. If you are working on a network, GET YOUR NETWORK MANAGER'S PERMISSION BEFORE USING THIS SOFTWARE.
The software has been put together by VLE Middleware and uses a number of public domain functions and products, all of which are acknowledged. WOS (Webserver on a Stick) and Moodle are open source free software, but both need support to keep up the good work. Visit their respective websites to find out more. We have also learned from advice posted on the UK's ILT Champions list, on the Moodle.org forums and in various other places on the web, and we make no claims to any rights over this packaging together of several functions.
